Great photo for the old Minolta users!,

I've been using this unit for several weeks now and I'm very impressed. Here are the pros, in my opinion:

(1) The camera is very light and balanced use of the lens 18-55. My wife was very surprised by the weight, or lack of.

(2) Minolta Maxxum autofocus lenses work perfectly with this camera! I have two telephotos old (20 years) that produce incredible pictures with the new Sony. My old zoom flash works too, although I must set the exposure manually. Although the new Sony lenses are much lighter, more quality lenses can be purchased on auction sites for a fraction of the cost of new targets. Remember, they are much more heavier than modern optics today.

(3) The functions of A330 and a point and shoot automatic camera, but also the flexibility to do everything manually if desired. I especially appreciate the ease of setting white balance for shooting glow in changing lighting conditions. Depth of field was easy to adjust using aperture priority.

(4) The picture quality is exceptional. Displaying the output in high definition on my Sony Bravia via HDMI is an incredible way to preview Photos. TV even my progress pictures of my camera as I look!

(5) It will require both an SD Memory Card and a Memory Stick Pro Duo card together. When it is full, the flick of a switch changes to another card. Memory is often limited by the size of your portfolio.

(6) The 3200 ISO setting does well in low light situations, even if there is a little grain.

Some disadvantages:

(1) Some functions are buried in menus. This seems to be especially for the course these days for all device manufacturers photo.

(2) Going back from a camera of 8 mega-pixel, 10.2 creates much larger files. It is important to consider what the photos will be used, then set the resolution accordingly.

(3) The flash hit my hat!

I did a lot of research before buying this camera. The main selling point was the possibility of using my old Minolta lenses, and tilt the screen back. This camera reminds me of my old 35mm. It's like I'm really taking photos again instead of simply capturing digital images. Those who want or need more features should look at the Sony premium. However, for beginners and intermediate photographers, this should do the trick very well!

Comparing past days … After more than 1000 shots, very very happy,

Ok, I literally spent days carefully comparing DSLRs Entry Level (Canon XS, XSi, Nikon D3000, D5000, kx Pentax) and have even made my own Excel spreadsheet ranking all of the advantages and disadvantages techniques. Of course, I finally chose the A330, so I'll write this review from the perspective of why I chose this unit photo and why I greatly appreciated.

Image quality
– Since you are looking for a device Digital input range, the picture quality for all input levels is comparable (in my opinion). Since I am a shooter manual mode, the quality of my photos are really based on the parameters (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, light, etc.) so you will be able out a good quality of each.
"I would say that the A330 a little more special, because in manual mode, Sony has something called" Creative Style, where you can also change your picture (colorful, night shooting, Sunset … etc. and each of these modes, you can still change the saturation, sharpness and contrast). See some of my pictures in my Profile!

Lenses
"That was one of the primary reasons why the series Sony alpha is my short list – any Sony or Minolta lens work with this unit. In addition, because the image stabilization is built into the camera and not the lens, the cost is reasonable compared to other objectives. Therefore, all the goals I found on eBay I can use (not having to worry about whether a particular target of Sony or Minolta lens more work, so my choice is unlimited).

Speed
– While the ongoing shooting is not the fastest in its class, it is certainly useful. When I was looking FPS, I thought it was something that was feature high on my list, but turns out (unless you're a photographer sport-event) where you shot still relativity something, you end up with tons of photos, where you will find just delete most of them. Thus, 2.5 to 3 frames per second is even faster then I would need.
– As noted by others, the AF is blazing fast (With AF points 9) and Switching between Live View and the optical viewfinder is very fast as well!

Battery
– The battery is pretty decent, especially since I have not shot with the flash. But here's my work around: I just used a handful of vertical supply, adding three batteries total use them transparent ([...]). This handle is that your camera such as larger cameras 2k-5k, and give you 3XS battery.

A230 vs A330
– As those who have studied this well, the A230 is exactly the same camera as the A330, but he does live view and tilting LCD screen. I thought, I'm definitely getting the A230, because the viewfinder is better, and the price is much cheaper. But I found that I like shooting display live, because in manual mode, the live view gives me an estimate of how openness, discussion, shutter speed and iso would my vs shot with the viewfinder in the A230, where it does not show me any of that (in the case said viewfinder alone, I'm stuck waiting for the preview shows, so I would check all shots, then adjust, etc..) So, the point of view Live saves me time and space on my SC card and I take pictures from the first or second according to the 4th or 5th time!

I could write all about my experience with the A3000 and A5000 Nikon and Canon XS and XSI but I'll just say after I tested all the best Sony

ps I realize Nikon and Canon are more prevalent in the market for DSLRs is why I wanted to give a real chance Sony – FYI, I have a Canon HD video camera, which I like better than all Sony, so for video, I would definitely go with a Canon.
