advice powatech rechargeable batteries?
I'm looking to buy new rechargeable batteries and charger. news and views on powatech PW-9888 with 2700 mAh rechargeable would be appreciated! or should I stay with Sony / Sanyo for them? dave
Unless you need the convenience of fast charging, and high capacity cells, I recommend you go a different route. I do not see all the approvals mentioned security for this charger. High capacity cells tend to have higher rates of self-defense. Quick charge any cell raises considerably the temperature which in turn has a negative impact on its useful life. Like the new generation of NiMH cells as Eneloop Sanyo and Kodak and Duracell "preloaded" batteries that have virtually eliminated the problem of self-defense, and I prefer fresh at an average rate of 5 to 6 hours.
