Unbrick a PSP?

I borrowed my friends psp for homebrew program like mine. I created a pandora battery with magic memory stick. Im not sure if I did it right, I used a program and it led me through four stages to prepare Memory Stick Next i prepared the battery (I used a battery psp fat) I connected the Memory Stick and corn in the battery. He said I could press X to install custom firmware 3.71 to Press O to install a firmware Sony or press [] to dump nand or something like that I tried to install custom firmware and he finished. I turned on the PSP with a fresh battery and it started until it shows the background, but no icons and that's all, after about 10 seconds, it turns out I CAN access the recovery menu, what should I do? try formatting flash1 or he had probably try a theme and XMB custom or simply redownload
